Principal’s Message

 

Dear Coles Academy Student,

It gives me great pleasure to enter my fifth year as “Your” principal. Looking back, several of our priority goals entering Coles Academy were to get to know the students, specifically YOU, so that we can best meet your individual needs and provide a fun, high-quality educational experience in a safe, nurturing environment. Presently, Coles Academy students are better than ever as it relates to students meeting and/ or exceeding Illinois state learning standards in reading, mathematics and science. In 2007, 48% of you met and/ or exceeded state standards. Today, we are proud to say 70% of you meet and/ or exceed state standards. Congratulations on reaching another milestone!

Looking ahead, with 70% of you meeting and/ or exceeding state standards, our focus is to challenge and enhance your educational experiences, while addressing each of your individual needs that will assist you in progressing towards meeting and/ or exceeding state standards. We have evaluated our strengths and areas of development, attended best practices trainings and listened to your input as we prepare to embark on our best academic and social school year ever here at Coles Academy. We have done all of this to better serve you during your educational experience here at Coles Academy. We also need your commitment to do YOUR best as we assist you in growing.

As always, our doors are open for any type of communication that will enhance the overall lives of ALL Coles students. We still have the open-door policy if you have any questions and/ or concerns. Please be mindful to exhibit respect while doing so as it relates to making requests and being on your best behavior at all times. Coles Academy is a place where your opinion and voice will be heard and respected. This is your school and we want to make it the best experience for YOU.

Congratulations again and thank you because our success is because of your hard work in the classroom each day that continues to pay off. Thank you for your time as it relates to reading this letter and I look forward to seeing you around the school and/ or on the school grounds.
